The economy has slowed down. People are buckling down and saving more and more each month. Because of that I thought you might appreciate an opportunity to get your hands on some great resources for FREE. We all know the first place where you can find a free book – at your local library. However, with the changes in technology the internet has also become a wonderful source for finding free books online. I have put the book in order of my favorites. Without any further delays I want to introduce you to five free books available online.
1. The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason
Get a free PDF download of a classic in the field of personal finance. This book has some great foundational material. The story format also makes it an appealing read. Here are the seven main lessons of the book:
1. Start thy purse to fattening
2. Control thy expenditures
3. Make thy gold multiply
4. Guard thy treasures from loss
5. Make of thy dwelling a profitable investment
6. Insure a future income
7. Increase thy ability to earn
This book was accessed via the www.moneyfunk.com website.
2. Filling Up the Afflictions of Christ by John Piper
This book is available to download (as a PDF) free.
John Piper is a talented writer and a notable Christian leader. He is one of those authors who has reached the status of, “anything he writes must be good.” Piper writes:
More and more I am persuaded from Scripture and from the history
of missions that God’s design for the evangelization of the world and the consummation of his purposes includes the suffering
of his ministers and missionaries. To put it more plainly and specifically, God designs that the suffering of his ambassadors is one essential means in the triumphant spread of the Good News among all the peoples of the world. (pg 14)
After laying a solid biblical foundation, Piper goes on to share stories of those who exemplify the affliction of Christ in their own lives. The book shares the lives and faith examples of William Tyndale, John Patton, and Adoniram Judson.
